An Australian man who jumped across a fence and grabbed celebrity Ariana Grande has been deported and banned from Singapore.

The man, twenty-six, was sentenced to over a week in prison for disrupting public order and has now been "barred from re-entering Singapore," the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority told Singaporean press.

The man shoved beyond security and rushed toward the actress and singer, who was present at the Asian premier for the film on 13 November. Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo pulled him back from Grande.

Wen has a history of interrupting performances and celebrity events, including leaping onto the platform at Katy Perry's Sydney concert in this summer.

The incident provoked strong reactions in Singapore, with several individuals saying he of causing further distress to the star.

The pop star has discussed dealing with PTSD after a explosive incident at her performance in the UK city in spring of 2017 took the lives of over twenty people and injured hundreds.

Throughout the court proceedings, the authorities learned he had tried to gain access on the movie's debut multiple times, according to regional reports.

He then made a follow-up try to cross the barriers. Security staff prevented him and held him in place.

Wen later posted video clips expressing gratitude to the star for permitting his access and said he was "free."

Law enforcement arrested him the subsequent day and brought charges against him with disorderly conduct, to which he confessed.

The Court Judge the judicial official was cited by Channel News Asia as remarking that Wen was "attention seeking", commenting that he was incorrect to believe he would not suffer any consequences.

Grande has not commented on the case.

Cynthia Erivo mentioned the incident to a media outlet, saying that she "only aimed to ensure my colleague was safe."

"I think he had no intention to us danger, but you can't predict with such situations, and I sought to ensure that she was fine. That was my first instinct," she stated.
