Franchise leads Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are set to reprise their roles in the new Hunger Games series movie, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.
Reports indicate that beloved stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are set to appear once again in the newest chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The film is currently in production.
A Significant Comeback for the Franchise
The actors will once again portray Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the roles they originated. Industry whispers indicate their appearance will probably be featured in a future-set scene, given that the main film series concluded with their characters married and with children.
This marks the sixth installment in the global Hunger Games franchise.
Delving Into the Prequel
Sunrise on the Reaping is adapted from a recent book by author Suzanne Collins. It serves as the second film set before the original story after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Once again is Francis Lawrence, who has helmed the majority of the previous films in the series.
The Plot and New Cast
The film's events are set in the years leading up to the first Hunger Games, centering on a young Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch, who would later become Katniss's mentor, is featured as a tribute in the brutal 50th Hunger Games.
The film welcomes several prominent actors in key parts:
- Jesse Plemons is playing Plutarch Heavensbee.
- Ralph Fiennes takes on the part of a younger version of the calculating President Snow.
What the Stars Are Doing Now & The Film's Schedule
Meanwhile, Jennifer Lawrence has been nominated for a Golden Globe for the film Die My Love. Josh Hutcherson stars in the sequel to the successful franchise Five Nights at Freddy's 2.
