The British player made it to the third stage in three Grand Slam tournaments major tournaments during the season.

The British tennis star Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from the last two tournaments in 2025 due to a health issue that has affected her in recent days.

Raducanu, aged 22 was due to play in events in Asia but opted to return home to regain her health ahead of launching next year's training.

These plans are set to feature coach Francisco Roig, as the pair have decided to continue collaborating for the upcoming season.

She underwent blood pressure monitoring in her opening round with Ann Li in Wuhan last week and stopped playing when losing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She needed once more medical attention at this week's Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the opening round.

She was also playing noticeably restricted in the final set in the match with Zhu because of back discomfort that has been a concern at times this year.

Such performances signaled a promising season, in which she climbed into the international top 30 after a long gap in more than three years, finished with a trio of defeats.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points prior to falling to American player Jessica Pegula in the third round in the Beijing tournament last month.

The player achieved twenty-eight matches during 2025 and made it to the semi-final round in Washington, but her most impressive week was at March's Miami Open.

The British number one made the last eight of the WTA 1000 event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed during the tournament prior to a loss in three sets to fourth-ranked Pegula.

She worked with Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig taking over in time for the US Open.

The original arrangement with Rafael Nadal's former coach was until the end of the season but the collaboration persists, with a training block pencilled in late this year.

She mentioned that a three-day test period alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She came very close to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at the first competition with Roig in Cincinnati in August.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she reached the third round prior to losing to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
