In the latest financial plan, appropriate selections were enacted for Britain, reducing energy expenses with a £150 reduction in charges, protecting the NHS and tackling the scourge of child poverty by eliminating the two-child cap. We also ensured that the funds collected through taxes was done fairly, with all paying their share but those with the broadest shoulders bearing an appropriate burden.

As a result of the choices we made, the budget established a firmer financial footing, reducing price increases and sovereign debt returns. This is crucial for defending our public services, when one pound in every ten expended by government goes on debt interest.

Advancing Financial Initiatives

The plan reinforces the action we have already taken to boost financial conditions: directing £120bn toward new investments in such things as roads, rail and energy; enacting the biggest planning reforms in a generation to favor construction, not impediments; advocating for the growth of Heathrow and Gatwick; and concluding commercial agreements with the EU, India and the US.

Taken together, these have allowed us to surpass our economic projections.

Revitalizing Our Country

As I set out at the party conference, the government’s purpose is nothing less than the renewal of our commercial landscape, our neighborhoods and our nation. Through this approach, we will halt deterioration and reestablish confidence in our country.

We will challenge those on the political extremes who only offer grievance and whose approach would lead to further decline. Allow me to state unequivocally, ramping up deficit spending or reimposing spending cuts – that is the strategy of degradation and I refuse to countenance it.

An Extensive Expansion Agenda

In a speech on Monday, I will frame the economic measures within the broader commercial rejuvenation on which the government will be judged at the end of this parliament.

To accomplish the national renewal we seek, we must do more to promote development, to address idleness among young people and to pursue closer international cooperation with our trading partners.

Administrative Streamlining Program

Our growth mission will include a renewed focus on removing superfluous red tape. Commonly it has fallen to those on the left who have supported restrictions, but there is nothing advanced in regulations which serve only to increase the cost of living for the poorest, to slow down economic growth unnecessarily, or stop a progressive administration achieving its aims.

Economic renewal also demands that we must continue to overhaul social security. We inherited a failing system that resulted in impoverished youth going hungry and which wrote off young people as incapable of employment.

We must not accept either part of that failing Tory system. This explains we will do more to support adolescents in reaching their abilities.

For when people are neglected in your early career, if you are refused the help you need to address psychological challenges, or if you are merely dismissed because you are experiencing cognitive variations or handicaps, then it can trap you in a cycle of unemployment and reliance for decades.

This creates economic costs, is harmful to our efficiency, but far more significantly, it eliminates prospects and ignores potential. Any progressive administration worthy of the name should not overlook it.

Hence the explanation we have appointed an ex-health minister to make implementable proposals to help young people with medical issues obtain employment, training or education – making certain they get help to succeed instead of excluded.

Global Commerce Improvement

Finally, we have to do more to help our businesses engage in worldwide exchange. No plausible financial outlook for Britain that does not place us as a welcoming, business-oriented country.

We must confront the reality that the botched Brexit deal significantly hurt our economy. You do not need to have a PhD in economics to know that constructing needless commercial obstacles with your largest commercial ally will hurt growth and raise the cost of living.

Thus an aspect of our economic renewal will be persisting in advancing toward a enhanced business association with the EU. When we can access more affordable sustenance, boost growth and create jobs by having a stronger connection with Europe, we should.

A Substantial Strategy for Significant Challenges

A financial plan founded on equitable decisions for Britain must be reinforced with commitment to achieve the economic renewal that the country needs.

Through implementing a substantial, courageous extended strategy, not a set of short-term remedies, we will renew Britain. We should evolve anew a meaningful society, with a important leadership, able collectively to undertake challenging tasks to reclaim command of our destiny.
